Position: Public Relations Officer

Location: Nairobi

Our client, a leading Provider of custom software applications in Africa is looking for an experienced Public Relations Officer. The ideal candidate should have outstanding communication and relationship management skills preferably in a BPO, IT or service related industry.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • To work closely with the Senior Management team in implementing the company's strategic plan for growth
  • Market the brand and the Company's experience to increase Good will in the Africa Industry
  • To undertake relationship management by building partners, marketing and brand positioning of organization
  • Competition analysis across various products and practice
  • Align PR strategy with group’s marketing strategy
  • Share the quarterly dashboard & individual target achievement in PR/Marketing review meeting with CEO, Company and Board Members
  • Align with Process and Performance Manager to ensure optimized use of internal processes
  • Develop, implement and evaluate communications strategies and programs designed to inform clients.
  • Conduct public opinion and attitude surveys to identify the interests and concerns of key groups served by their organization
  • Develop and organize workshops, meetings, ceremonies and other events for publicity and information purposes.
  • Act as spokesperson for an organization and answer written and oral inquiries
  • Co-ordinate special publicity events and promotions for internal and external audiences
  • Assist in the preparation of brochures, reports, newsletters and other material
Qualification and Experience
  • College/University Degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Public Relations and marketing.
  • Should be presentable & should stand up to the mark
  • Experience in handling organizational functions like media, community, consumer, industry, and governmental relations; political campaigns; interest-group representation; conflict mediation; and employee and investor relations
  • Must understand the attitudes and concerns of community, consumer, employee, and public interest groups
  • Good understanding of long-range Strategic Planning and Business Planning processes
  • Excellent communication skills
