Due to expansion and growth, the following position has arisen within our organization:
General Manager Legal: Eastern Region
Accountabilities
- In consultation with GM: Legal, formulate and implement legal strategy for the Region.
- Prepare and manage the Region’s legal budget.
- Draft and ensure that the legal policy is implemented and adhered to.
- Advise relevant parties such as the the Regional Director, in-country executive teams and other Group executives with regards to corporate governance developments in the Region.
- Advise on, and ensure adherence to, legislation application to the Group and the Region.
- Advise on IP related queries
- Prepare presentations on various legal topics.
- Assist with corporate and commercial transactions.
- Negotiate and draft various agreements (i.e. shareholders agreements, loan agreements, entertainment law agreements, commercial agreements, IT agreements, and IP agreements).
- Manage and liaise with external parties (including outside attorneys) in the Region.
- Conduct training on new pieces of legislation applicable to the Region.
- Provide legal guidance on the structure of proposed services.
- Draft, review and amend terms and conditions for various services required by the Region.
- Assist with resolution of customer queries referred to the legal department.
- Implement and manage Legal Compliance for the Region (including preparation of the Risk Register).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognized University
