Profile Introduction: Our Client, one of the leading Insurance and Financial companies in East Africa seeks to recruit a Project manager.

Overall Purpose of the role is: To be responsible for establishing and leading country-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives.
Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, project management or equivalent required;
  • Progress towards project management certification, PMP, PRINCE2;
  • 3 years experience in financial services e.g. Audit, Financial Planning and analysis, financial reporting, Operations;
  • 3-5 years of strong project management and execution skills;
  • Experience in application of reengineering methodologies such as Six sigma and Lean preferred.
Job Specification
  • Managing all aspects of the project life cycle for large-scale;
  • Defining and tracking project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan on company-wide strategic initiatives;
  • Maintaining all relevant documentation related to the project e.g. regulatory approvals, integrated project plans, resource plan, contingency plan, risk assessment reports;
  • Manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed upon time, cost, and quality parameters;
  • Validating financial forecasts and providing on-going reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures;
  • Developing and conducting briefings to management and other key stake holders on project status, cost, schedules, trends, accomplishments and other aspects of assigned initiatives;
  • Process engineering- continued review of systems and processes (e.g. contracts, procedures and policies). 
  • Implementing improvements to develop client experience and financial control;
  • Assisting in developing success criteria, best practices, metrics and benchmarks, monitor and manage adherence to SLAs, KPIs and targets.
Competencies
  • Excellent project-solving and critical-thinking skills;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal;
  • Outstanding analytical, strategic and problem solving skills coupled with strong finance and internal control skills;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages: Projects, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel;
  • Proven ability to quickly earn trust of sponsors and key stake holders;
