Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new designs for clothing range and accessories
- Sketch rough and detailed drawings of accessories and write specifications such as colour schemes, material type, and accessory requirements
- Work with tailors and other workers to convert designs into concrete samples
- Develop a group of products and/or accessories
- Identify target markets for designs
- Select materials and production techniques to be used for products
- Guide and direct workers involved in drawing and cutting patterns and making the garments/accessories
- Pilot test samples
- Possibly get involved in marketing the designs
Required skills and qualifications:
- Diploma or a degree in fashion and design from a reputable organization
- Minimum 2 years experience in a fashion and design environment
- Experience in a Manufacturing set up will be an added advantage
- Excellent skills in Design
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Must be creative and innovative
- Must be fast and accurate
- Must have a portfolio/samples of previous work
