Summary of the Job:
Under the supervision of the Africa Regional Director this position provides project coordination support.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of relevant experience in an international development organization working on either health or food security programming.
Essential Duties:
Under the supervision of the Africa Regional Director this position provides project coordination support.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 4+ years of relevant experience in an international development organization working on either health or food security programming.
Essential Duties:
- Provides administrative support to Africa Regional Director.
- Schedules and organizes complex project activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and other project activities as required.
- Communicates regularly with GoK, donors and project stakeholders.
- Tracks project invoices and budgets as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Must have experience working successfully to implement health or food security projects with GoK, donors or development organizations (NGOs or for-profit development organizations)
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and problem solving skills
- Ability to multi-task efficiently across multiple projects
- Work requires an extensive knowledge of international development and
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Must have knowledge of secretarial, office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment, at a level generally acquired through 1+ years related experience.
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
