Establishes
close working relationships with television, radio and news agencies to
promote and ensure the dissemination of UNHCR aims, activities and principle.
Plans advertisements, exhibitions, training seminars and other activities to
promote a better understanding of
UNHCR's
aims, activities and accomplishments through mass media and organized
groups; Develops working relationships with the Government, NGOs and UN
agencies in order to arise interest and develop cooperation in their
inter-related activities; Organizes conferences and meetings to create
conscious awareness and to inform on social events that affect
UNHCR
activities and principles; Drafts press reports, booklets, etc. to ensure
consistency with UNHCR policy and the proper use of terminology to be readily
understood by the target audience; Organizes the management and distribution of
UNHCR written publications, the provision of UNHCR materials to various
institutions to respond to the interest of the public on refugee issues.
Organizes press trips to refugee sites and briefings for journalists,
commanding information for public release.
