Profile Introduction
 

Our Client, a Multimedia House with presence in Publishing, TV and Outdoor Advertising at a national level, seeks to recruit a Head of Technical.
 

The overall purpose of the role is to:

• Plan, organize and coordinate all broadcast engineering activities, resources and projects effectively in order to meet the organization’s production and operational requirements.
• Ensure the technical function operates efficiently and competitively, in order to deliver a high quality and smooth (uninterrupted) viewing/listening experience for all our audiences.

Minimum Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in Telecommunications Engineering
• A KIMC Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 5 years working experience in a similar position

Job Specification

• Manage the daily activities of the department including: allocation of duties, procurement and care of technical equipment, proper synchronization of programme sources to facilitate smooth on-air changes, schedule and manage regular maintenance of transmission, studio and edit suite equipment and supervise the maintenance of microwave and uplink equipment
• Manage the installation of new technical equipment and systems & smooth migration from analogue to digital
• Monitor the quality of on-air programmes on radio and TV
• Attract & retain the best talent for the department. Ensure high motivation & efficiency
• Manage team performance by carrying out appraisals on a half yearly basis
• Ensure that Radio and TV stations signals are strong (High quality) & on air 24 hours on a daily basis
• Oversee broadcasting improvement and expansion projects
• Ensure immediate restoration of service and clear troubleshooting guidelines

• Hands-on knowledge of Transmission equipment
