position: Project Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Manager; The Project Engineer shall be required to;
  • Routine projects administration including tracking the progress of various projects, tasks, activities and ensuring timely action.
  • Prepare plans for the various project activities in consultation with the project stakeholders and organs.
  • Advise on project implementation and communicate any deviations from the plan, recommend corrective action and prepare any appropriate execution plans.
  • Ensure the evaluation of all issues that arise within the project component and recommend action to the Project Coordinator.
  • Identify and advise the Project Implementation Committees and Manager of any risks associated with the Work Package.
  • Prepare all project implementation committee meetings.
  • Record and distribute minutes for all project meetings.
  • Prepare project reports, budgets, monitoring, planning and control.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and attend site meetings.
  • Liaise with units and departments on operational issues of the project such as actionable items and approvals.
  • Administration of project budgets as advised by Project Coordinator.
  • Liaison with all parties involved in the project including Local and international manufacturers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other service providers.
  • Manage other junior Technical staff within the department.
  • Perform other assigned duties deemed necessary by Management.
Job Requirement:
  • Bachelor Degree in a Building Discipline.
  • At least 2years relevant experience.
  • Highly computer literate.
  • Report writing, communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills are essential.
  • A team player and one who can work with minimal supervision.
  • Registration with ERB or IEK will be added advantage.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • To ensure maximum availability of computer systems throughout the Company
  • Responsible for the provision of IT infrastructure services including desktop applications Local and / or Wide area networks, IT security and telecommunications

  • Resolve issues on software applications in place and assist in developing enhancements.
  • Install or repair computers with standardized applications and networking software, diagnosing and solving problems that develop in their operations.
  • Respond to user questions and explain the operation of network applications and equipment
  • Assist in the maintenance of standards and documentation.
  • Carry out quarterly maintenance on all PC’s.
  • Maintain accurate and current records on repair, installation and removal of equipment; provide appropriate logging and tracking of hardware malfunctions.
  • Recommend improvements to operating procedures; write and maintain procedure manuals.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years directly related experience
  • University degree in IT / Computer Science
  • Professional Certification and/or proven experience in networking installation, operations and trouble shooting
  • Experience with LINUX systems
  • Certification and/or proven experience in database management and administration
  • Experience in MySQL would be an added advantage
  • Experience in systems analysis and design for end users and implementation of complex information systems
  • Systems integration experience
  • Proven experience of managing an IT department
  • Experience in IT infrastructure planning and development
  • Strong team leading skills

She/he will supervise Assistant Sports and Youth Development Officers in the program activities. The position holder will have a close working relationship with other project officers, managers and coordinators across all the RAP sectors.

Duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will be overseeing the BASE Communication Section activities which include:
  • Provide communications support to all projects in KEMRI/CDC and advice projects on public awareness activities and mobilization
  • Developing a media strategy, drafting press releases, responding to media enquiries and building dialogue with journalists
  • Developing a communication strategy for the organization including the implementation of the crisis communication plan
  • Coordinating training for staff in participatory communications and proactive media interaction
