TrĂ³caire Horn & East Africa Regional Office (HEARO) seeks to fill the following 3 positions within in its Regional Programme.
TrĂ³caire is an Irish Catholic development organization, which works in solidarity with local development actors in over 30 countries throughout the developing world.
1. Regional Humanitarian Co-ordinator
Based in Nairobi with regional travel, including to insecure environments, the successful candidate will manage TrĂ³caire’s regional humanitarian portfolio, working closely with partners, providing technical leadership and support to programming and strengthening relationships with humanitarian networks and key stakeholders.

The successful candidates will have:
- Master’s Degree in Development Studies or equivalent work experience, with a proven international track record of coordinating humanitarian programmes within an international context.
- Knowledge of key issues and trends in development is essential, as is the ability to manage and build capacity of partner organizations. The candidate is expected to have experience in fundraising and the management of institutional donor contracts, as well as experience of managing a diverse team, and great team working skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential.
2. HIV Programme Officer
Based in Nairobi, with some travel to Uganda, TrĂ³caire seeks an experienced and ambitious candidate to manage and further develop an existing programme.
The successful candidate to support and deliver national HIV policies, in line with TrĂ³caire’s own strategic plan and HIV Policy.
The candidate will maintain good working relationships with programme partners and relevant stakeholders; support the development of a programme baseline and appropriate M&E and results frameworks; support capacity building, shared learning, good budget management and reporting to TrĂ³caire and other donors.
The successful candidate will have graduate level education in development studies or relevant subject, or equivalent work experience as well as at least :

- Knowledge in project cycle management and experience in raising and managing institutional funding is essential.
- The successful candidate would also need to be fluent in English and Kiswahili.
3. Regional Logistics Coordinator
Based in Nairobi with occasional regional travel (Mandera, Sudan, Ethiopia & Uganda), the successful candidate will manage all aspects of logistics in the region.
This will include: sourcing material/ supplies, procurement and delivery, fleet management, construction, repairs, rehabilitation, stock and supply chain management, and maintenance of logistics information systems.
S/he will manage logistics assistants and work closely with the Crisis Management Teams to ensure appropriate security procedures and systems are in place.
The successful candidate will have a mimimum of graduate diploma in the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supplies or equivalent, plus relevant basic degree. Excellent computer skills, experience in Microsoft Offices systems.
The candidate will have at least 3-5 years management experience of logistics, preferably humanitarian logistics, in conflict environments. Must have capacity to establish and manage good logistics systems and experience of major institutional donor regulations.
The candidate must demonstrate an ability to evaluate situations and challenges, and devise appropriate solutions and ensure teams deliver results.
Terms & Conditions: All contracts are for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal.
