The National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC Foundation) is an independent, nonprofit organization that connects the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) with private-sector organizations and individuals to build public health programs.
In collaboration with CDC-Kenya and the Ministry of Medical Services (MOMS) and Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation (MOPHS), the CDC Foundation seeks an mHealth (Mobile Health) Project Country Manager for the PEPFAR (President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) to be based in Nairobi, Kenya.
Reporting to CDC Foundation, and with technical oversight provided by CDC-Kenya, the Project Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing the PEPFAR mHealth initiative.
Key responsibilities:

Reporting to CDC Foundation, and with technical oversight provided by CDC-Kenya, the Project Country Manager will be responsible for overseeing the PEPFAR mHealth initiative.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage contracts for services and products across the Partnership;
- Develop service level agreements (SLAs) for information technology services and oversee end-user support activities across technology solutions;
- Provide technology solutions and design, develop and test activities in partnership with the two health ministries, CDC ICT Leaders, technology partners and vendors;
- Develop and implement system training strategies and plans;
- Work with the two health ministries and CDC ICT Leaders to develop support and escalation plans;
- Manage relationships between the Government of Kenya, key HIS stakeholders, donors/partners, in-country CDC and PEPFAR teams; and
- Manage the Partnership’s budget and project requirements and deliverables and mitigate any project risks or shortcomings.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelors degree and a Masters degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business or a related field;
- A minimum of 10-15 years experience in public health;
- Excellent analytic and quantitative skills and a background in technology implementation;
- Experience in designing Health Information Systems (HIS), knowledge and understanding of national enterprise data models for HIS is highly desirable;
- Experience in managing multiple teams and collaborating with a wide range of entities working in the public health field;
- Ability to solve complex problems especially in resource constrained environments;
- Experience in preparing complex documents such as reports to donors, meeting summaries and peer reviewed articles is strongly preferred;
- Project management experience including demonstrated success in managing large, complex projects to successful completion; and
- Ability to travel extensively.
