  • Certified Public Accountant (part III) finalist.
  • A bachelors Degree in finance or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a finance officer.
  • Knowledge of donor practices and USG accounting for grants and/or cooperative agreements (USAID/CDC).
  • Computer Literate Ms Office
  • 10 years plus experience in a busy accounting office
  • Willingness to travel 30% of the time.
  • Preferred age 35 years and above

Purpose of the position:

Qualifications
  • The holder of this position must have a minimum of a degree in a relevant field from a recognized University.
  • They must have a minimum of 5 -7 years experience with regard to the designing, planning, implementation, supervising and reporting on integrated development, relief and/or advocacy projects;
  • They should have at least 3-5 years experience as a Programme Officer ;
  • The holder of this position must be a results orientated who can handle a heavy work load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands and;
  • He /she must also have ample experience in public relations, leadership, fund raising, results based management, donor requirements, staff capacity building, public speaking, strategic management, and be a strong team player.

Purpose

The post holder will join a four-person team based in Nairobi, who together oversee the overall program in Kenya.

The prospective candidates must be of good character and have the integrity and willingness to work and produce results in a dynamic environment.

Specifically, the post holder must demonstrate experience and creative leadership in the development and implementation of climate adaptation, renewable energy and livelihoods initiatives in rural and/or pastoralist communities.

NCA works for the attainment and full realization of peoples’ basic rights in various sectors through the development of sustainable initiatives and strengthening of local capacities.

NCA’s operational interventions in Kenya have greatly expanded and NCA is shifting its attention to consolidating these experiences and strengthening local capacities for sustainability.

The main NCA climate initiatives in Kenya are in Mandera, Embu, Yatta and Lamu.

Main Responsibilities of post holder
  • Provide support in development and implementation of partner/activity plans and budgets particularly related to silviculture, rain water harvesting, value addition, community mobilization/capacity building etc.
  • Support the development and implementation of a farmer out-growers and outreach scheme.
  • Manage the implementation of interventions at the various climate clusters and ensure liaison between the teams in the field locations and the Nairobi office.
  • Meet strict reporting requirements for each climate cluster and ensure that quality reports, consistent with the overall strategy of NCA, are prepared and submitted in good time.
  • Participate in Program planning and decision-making processes as may be required by the Country Program Coordinator.
  • Represent the Country Program Coordinator in meetings and other functions as may be required.
  • Initiate and coordinate plan for partner capacity development in the climate clusters.
  • Take a leading role in the development of Annual Operation Plans and in the formulation of management plans for each climate cluster.
  • Ensure that all projects are managed within the approved budget and according to NCA financial policy.
  • Monitor field security situation and keep the CPC updated on developments.
Job requirements

Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Development studies or related fields.

Experience: At least 4 years in field operations and management positions within NGO working environment.

Skills:
  • Demonstrable skills in relevant thematic areas, writing, facilitation & training.
  • Proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and internet.
Language: Excellent written and spoken English.

Functions

  • Be the Head of the Judiciary.

c) Hold the outlined qualifications in (a) and (b) above for a period amounting, in the aggregate, to fifteen ( 15) years. (Experience gained ¡n Kenya or in another Commonwealth Country with a common-law jurisdiction will be considered).

d) Have a high moral character, integrity and impartiality.

In addition to the above qualifications, the candidates must have demonstrated a high degree of professional competence, communication skills, fairness, good temperament, making good judgements in both legal and life experiences, and commitment to public and community service.

For appointment to the position of Deputy Chief Justice, the applicants must be in possession of the following minimum qualifications:-

a) Hold a law degree from a recognised university or are an advocate of the High Court of Kenya or possess an equivalent qualification ¡n a common-law jurisdiction.

b) Possess at least fifteen (15) years’ experience as a Superior Court Judge or a distinguished academic or a Judicial Officer or a Legal Practitioner in other relevant legal field, or
