Reporting to the Field Services Coordinator - the successful candidate will be responsible for: -
  • Carrying out routine maintenance of the factory’s vehicle;
  • Fitting new parts in motor vehicles and equipment as required;
  • Carrying out inspection and repairs of motor vehicles;
  • Overhauling of motor vehicles and equipment to the required standards;
  • Keeping repair costs and analysis as required;
  • Ensuring safe custody of spares, tools and equipment assigned;
  • Initiating purchases of motor vehicle spare parts required for repairs;
  • Observing and complying with environmental, health and safety measures and regulations.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
  • ‘O’ Level Division II or KCSE ‘C’ plain;
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive Option) or Mechanical Engineering Technician III certificate;
  • A certificate of good conduct;
  • A minimum working experience of not less than five (5) years;
  • Computer literacy.

Position: Youth Program Coordinator - YPC/LVCT/2011

Location: Nairobi

Overall Purpose

Provide leadership, coordination, strategic guidance, fore and oversight for implementation of a comprehensive youth programme with integrated partnership building, policy advocacy, and technical support for HIV service delivery for youth, with a special focus on those at increased vulnerability such as HIV positive youth, survivors of sexual violence, girls, youth with disability and minority youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the policy, research and programme integration for the LVCT youth agenda
  • Ensure the development and delivery of program work plans as per LVCT’s strategic plan.
  • Ensure maintenance of accurate program data and information resources
  • Develop project and fundraising proposals
  • Prepare and submit program reports on timely basis
  • Represent LVCT at regional level and national /international level forums
  • Provide technical assistance for the 121 youth hotline and ICT platform
  • Ensure that service needs of youth are integrated within the institutional planning
  • Provide oversight to the delivery of information, counseling and referral services through information communication technologies in partnership with private sector partners.
  • Contribute to policy forums on youth related SRH and HIV/AIDS issues

Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
  • BA in Social Sciences, communications or related field
  • A minimum of 4 years’ experience working with young people, project coordination and organizational capacity development
  • Experience in HIV programming. Fundraising experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Skills in participatory training methods
  • Should be creative and innovative in developing ideas that appeal and are relevant to the youth constantly.
  • Should be able to comfortably work with multiple platforms including Windows, Vista, and design packages such as publisher, Adobe Photoshop/Corel Draw.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Mac OS, Linux and Cool edit, will be an added advantage

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in the effective implementation and integration of capacity development at LVCT.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching on capacity development initiatives.
  • Support the identification of priority areas for training of sub-partners and develop strategic interventions to assist them.
  • Support the process of identifying organizations for sub-granting in line with the LVCT policies and donor requirements.
  • Coordinate the developing of capacity development plans for the specific sub-partners.
  • Coordinate the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of LVCT’s sub-partner organizations.
  • Support the capacity development of sub-partners to engage in policy forums at their levels.
  • Ensure strong links between the capacity development programme and M&E systems to improve reporting and measuring results and impact.
  • Ensure that solid documentation is provided and maintained by each sub-partner under different capacity development grants.
  • Coordinate sub-granting management systems to ensure high quality and consistency.
  • Ensure sub-partners report through set national M&E framework.
  • Work as part of the coordination team to increase funding sources for LVCT and provide resource mobilization support to sub-partners.
  • Represent LVCT at strategic meetings and public forums related to its mission and programs.
  • Initiate and maintain strong, ongoing partnerships with relevant community, including government agents, sub-partners and other stakeholders to collaborate on relevant and strategic capacity development programme implementation.
Requirement
  • A master’s degree in organizational development, social sciences, public health or other related fields.
  • At least three (3) years work experience at supervisory level of a multi-stakeholder programme in relevant sectors.
  • Good understanding of HIV policies and programs in the Kenyan environment.
  • Experience in working with the Ministries of Health at different levels.
  • Working knowledge of regulations applicable to health systems strengthening/organizational system strengthening/grants management and administration.
  • Proven and extensive experience in developing winning proposals targeting key donors.
  • At least three (3) years in capacity development and/or grants management.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Good data management and report writing skills.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office suite, spreadsheets and database skills.
  • Intellectual depth and maturity to work with staff, government officials and other leaders.
  • Detail orientation, with an ability to operate in a well organized manner.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • A team player.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Those with previous experience in working with USG agencies have an added advantage.

Position: Clinical Officer - CO/LVCT/2011

Location: Nairobi

Key Responsibilities
  • Performing medical consultations for OI’s and Antiretroviral therapy (ARVs) for PLWHA and Post exposure prophylaxis for at risk groups
  • Providing adherence counseling and PWP to clients attending the clinic
  • Ensuring that the optimal standard of care is achieved by establishing and maintaining the use of nationally approved clinical guidelines and protocols and with the help of the care manager, updating your knowledge of HIV/AIDs management using evidence based practice
  • Provide medical consultation to LVCT staff members when so required
  • Facilitation of referral of patients to other health institutions for further management and to inform the care manager of any such referrals
  • Assisting in the training of healthcare worker when called upon to do so by the care manager in collaboration with the training department
  • Keeping records of case studies for discussion and ensuring that the clinic patient files are properly maintained and filled and participation in regular random checks to confirm the same
  • Compile data on number of clients attending the clinic and in addition, ensuring that the data is correct and up to date.
  • Ensuring proper utilization and reporting and requesting for consumable in collaboration with the site in charge and other staff.
Requirement
  • Ability to consult, examine, report, diagnose and give treatment without supervision
  • Must be registered with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya with over 3 years experience in a busy Comprehensive Care Clinic
  • Experience in clinical mentorship or support supervision in MoH settings an added advantage
  • Good data management and proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • A team player.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
