CfBT Education Trust is a non-profit International organisation committed to providing education reform and school improvement services for children worldwide. 

Our Regional Office based in Nairobi Kenya is seeking to appoint the following positions to support our activities in the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
 
Regional Operations Manager (Open to all qualified candidates)
 
Reporting to the Regional Director, Africa, the position will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the operations of the CfBT Sub-Saharan Regional office are effective and will provide oversight role to Finance, HR, Information Technology and Procurement functions. 

This position manages the Administration Manager and the Finance Manager and will take charge of the operational functions, including:-
  • Preparation, allocation and management of budgets and budgetary controls of all regional functions and management of commercial risks
  • Implementation and development of HR policies and procedures and ensuring compliance with employment law and corporate procedures
  • Oversight for CfBT’s duty of care responsibilities to staff and contractors
  • Leadership and direction in ensuring that administration, logistical, IT and procurement are effective and efficient and compliance with corporate systems and procedures
  • Oversight for commercial analysis decision making in business development
Experience and Qualification
  • MBA or Master’s degree in other business area
  • Relevant work experience (10 years or more) in a leadership and supervisory position in a wide range of operations areas.
  • Corporate or NGO environment experience of which 5 are at a senior level would be an added advantage
  • Competence in management of core operations Finance, HR, Logistics, Security, IT and Procurement
  • An understanding of working donors like USAID, DFID, European Union would be an added advantage
  • Excellent analytical skills including the ability to analyse and interpret complex financial data
  • Unquestionable integrity, flexible, hardworking, excellent inter-personal & organisational skills
Finance Manager (Open to Kenya nationals only)
 
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, the Finance Manager will take charge of the functions of the Finance department, including:-
 
1. Implementation, management and development of new financial and procurement processes and systems & preparation of management accounts
 
2. Supervision, management and development of accounts staff
 
3. Preparation of the regional office budget, programme/project budgets, payroll and management of audit processes in line with regulations
 
4. Preparation of revenue monitoring and other reports as may be required both within the regional office and at Head office within agreed timelines.
 
5. Risk management, bank account management and internal controls
 
6. Support to new business development.
 
Experience and Qualifications
  • Recognised local or international accounting qualification, e.g. CPA(K), ACCA, CIMA and experience in accounting software
  • At least five years’ experience in a supervisory position in the financial services industry with sound knowledge of financial management and accounting procedures, business planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience in setting up and implementing new accounting and internal control systems; familiarity with tax and audit laws, regulations and procedures
  • Unquestionable integrity, hardworking & excellent inter-personal skills
