Chain of Cafes General Manager and Head Chef Job in Nairobi Kenya

A fast growing chain of cafés is seeking to recruit well-qualified, dedicated and self motivated persons to fill the positions of a General Manager and Head Chef. 

Both positions will be based at Nairobi.

A) General Manager
 

Key Responsibilities
 

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for:-

• Overseeing all operations and ensure smooth running of the cafés
• Set standards of operations
• Manage revenues and costs
• Ensure top level customer service
• Oversee Food preparation and presentation
• Ensure staff motivation

Qualifications, Competencies and Attributes

• Degree in hotel management
• Diploma/equivalent in hospitality is an added advantage
• Should have had at least 5 years’ experience at high level management preferably hospitality field and experienced in Food & Beverage and Banqueting
• Must be computer literate
• Excellent & proven Managerial and leadership skills
• High level of integrity, Honest, reliable,Self driven and Customer oriented

(B) Head Chef
 

Key Responsibilities
 

Reporting to the General Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:-

• Overseeing all Kitchen operations and food presentation while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and hygiene.
• Recruiting, training and managing the kitchen staff
• Selection and determination of food ingredients
• Ensuring uniformity of food production in all the cafés
• Menu planning, costings and food presentation
• Ensuring proper maintenance of kitchen equipment
• Ensure staff motivation
• Controlling food spoilage and wastage
• Determining the decides on the portions of food to be served to customers
• Maintaining inventory levels and stock controls
• Controlling and maintaining the required food cost percentage within the budgetary targets

Qualifications, Competencies and Attributes

• Diploma in Food production or related field
• Should have had at least 5 years’ experience in Food & Beverage and Banqueting
• Must be computer literate
• Excellent & proven Managerial and leadership skills
• High level of integrity and Customer service
