HR Manager, East / West Africa

Position Reports To: Group Head of HR & CEO
Brief Job Overview: Responsible for the Human Resources Function

Main Responsibilities:
  • Acting as HR business partner to Heads of businesses & other senior leadership & employees
  • Managing employee relations within locations responsible for, which may include the coordination of dispute resolution, redundancy and other processes.
  • Local coordination in collaboration with Group HR colleagues and department and regional managers of Group HR activity such as performance management, compensation reviews, headcount budgeting, mobility and benefits provision.
  • Support the recruiting of staff along with the specialist assistance provided by the Recruitment function and ensure the appropriate coordination of sign off on proposed compensation packages
  • Conduct the on-boarding of employees, supported by the HR manager, gathering appropriate details to register for benefits and set up in payroll and directing staff to relevant information Draft/oversee the drafting of contracts of employment and ensure the accuracy of the terms in line with the term sheets that have gone through the approval process, as above.
  • Work with colleagues in HR and other departments on projects relevant to locations supported such as local variations of Graduate scheme, setting up new offices etc.
  • Overseeing HR records are in compliance with requirements and providing reporting on HR metrics. Oversee payroll processes and reporting as appropriate, liaising with Finance.

Main task and responsibilities for the above Job in Kenya:
  • Daily update of the accountancy according to the project activities and FAM’s needs in a Cash book.
  • Making payments when requested by the teams.
  • Verify that all the receipts/invoices are correctly filled and they are eligible for Tdh accountancy (indicating: date, details of the supplier, clearly written the amount with the stamp PAID)
  • Archive all the relevant administrative and accountancy documentation in the proper way indicated by the FAM and according to Tdh procedures.
  • Manage the cash box of the office, under the supervision of the FAM. The FAM and the Base team leader have the right to verify randomly the cashbox balance
  • Do monthly cash inventory and reconciliation check with FAM.
  • Prepare, collect, check and send attendance sheets signed by the staff based in the field to FAM.
  • Work as liaison between staff and FAM and Base team leader in order to smooth any problem and maintain a high standard of HR management.
  • Support the Logistics Department in filling the yearly office assets inventory
  • Regularly check the correct filling of the vehicle log book
  • Provide weekly admin, HR & finance report to the FAM
  • Ensure and facilitate the communication and information sharing within the team and the departments, and contribute to the team responsibilities.
  • Work in close collaboration with other team members.
Kenyan Jobs Requirements:
  • Minimum diploma-level education in Business administration or Accounting management.
  • Experience in working with similar organization, previous experience of two years or more
  • Experience and knowledge of Finance & HR management
  • Demonstrate ability to use Windows computer software, accounting software and use of spread sheets
  • Fluency in English, Kiswahili, Kisomali
  • Experience in working  North Eastern Kenya.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Honesty and integrity
