Responsibilities
  • Produce maps and process GIS data for the delegation’s departments and management;
  • Carry out GIS based data analysis for the delegation;
  • Maintain, manage and update the delegation’s GIS datas and databases;
  • Carry out assessments and technical GIS surveys in Somalia;
  • Close collaboration with GIS and information officers from local and international organisations working in Somalia;

Minimum requirements

Main duties and responsibilities:

The Environment Officer will be responsible for region wide environmental oversight of the co-operation, policy concerns relating to the environment. He/she serves as the primary source of environmental policy expertise, guidance, direction and support to all LVRLAC programmes/interventions.

The Environment Officer serves as the chief point of contact with disaster recovery management for environmental guidance and support. Key results areas are:

Area Coordinator (AC)

The Area Coordinator will report directly to the Country Representative or the person designated by him/her.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overall responsible for representation, coordination and supervision of refugee and host community projects in the Turkana Region.
  • Act as the official representative for LWF program in the Region.
  • Responsible for the overall management of programs, financial, administration/ human resources and safety.
  • Coordinate with United Nations organizations, Government of Kenya, national and international NGOs, the refugee and host communities to promote a coordinated approach in programming.

  • Advanced University degree in Social Work, Sociology, Political Science or a related field.
  • At least 4 years experience at management level in an international humanitarian organization, preferably in a refugee or Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) settings.
  • Professional training in M&E and/or Project Management.
  • Strong representation, negotiation and coordination experience gained from working with UN organizations, government, community leaders, and national and international NGOs.
  • Excellent computer skills.
