Position: Head – Corporate Affairs
 
Major Responsibilities
 
Reporting directly to the President of the Bank, the Head of Corporate Affairs (HCA) will work closely with the Bank’s Treasurer and Corporate Secretary, to support and coordinate the Bank’s engagement and mobilization of strategic partners and funders. 

The Head of Corporate affairs will also serve as the Bank’s liaison and focal point for communication with shareholders, current and prospective, and key stakeholder groups, namely the Board of Governors and the Board of Directors.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Advises on strategic partnerships and discussions with key bilateral and multilateral partners; including capital expansion and special purpose funds;
  • Manages key stakeholder relations in particular Member State , Government and Donor relations;
  • Advises the President on strategy and corporate reforms;
  • Maintains reliable information on development issues in the region and elsewhere of potential impact or representing opportunities for the Bank;
  • Provides analytical and policy advice support to the President on long term strategic initiatives;
  • Prepares strategic papers and briefing notes for the President’s meetings and discussions;
  • Coordinates and advises on the preparation and submission of management papers and submissions to Board;
  • Act as a dedicated communication channel for the Board of Directors and Board of Governors;
  • Coordinates and facilitates self-assessments by the Board;
  • Coordinate and facilitates service level agreements across the Bank;
  • Assists Directorates in developing policy and strategy in line with overall Corporate Strategy.
  • Coordinate Corporate Communications and Marketing, including the Bank’s Re-branding Project
  • Undertake other corporate projects and activities as requested
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in international relations / business development;
  • Over 10 years working experience , ideally in development finance and development funding with hands on resource mobilization, lobbying, consulting in the region;
  • Strong regional and global networks in development finance industry ;
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with board members
Competency Requirements
  • Strong relationship management and strategic marketing/lobbying skills;
  • Knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of board members ;
  • Strong analytical skills ;
  • Strong writing and communication skills ; computer skills ;

Job Profile
 
Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the Project Engineer will be stationed in the area where the project is being undertaken and will perform the following functions related to the project:
  • Plan, design and supervise the construction of transmission lines and associated substations;
  • Lead and coordinate activities of the project implementation team composed of various professionals;
  • Participate in the procurement of project contractors and other consultants; and
  • Supervise contractors and consultants so as to ensure that each stage of the project progresses on time and on budget.
Minimum Qualifications and Attributes
 
The ideal candidates should at least possess the following qualifications and attributes:-
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil (Structural) or Electrical Engineering from a recognized University. A Masters Degree will be an added advantage;
  • Be a registered Engineer with the Kenya Engineers Registration Board (KERB);
  • Be a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya (MIEK) ;
  • Have at least five (5) years relevant work experience; three of which should have been in the design and construction of projects worth KShs. 100 million and above;
  • Should possess computer skills. Proficiency in Office and CADD computer applications and other structural analysis and design software will be an added advantage;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and good presentation skills;
  • Ability to perform work independently under strict deadlines with minimum supervision; and
  • Should be self-motivated, a team player, result oriented and with high level of integrity and willing to work odd hours when necessary.

1. Chief Manager, Finance and Strategy

Duties and Responsibilities
 
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and perform the following duties:-
  • Formulation and implementation of sound financial policies, procedures, strategies and systems.
  • Manage financial resources effectively and efficiently through the development of activity based budgets and implementation of strict budgetary control measures.

  • Coordinating all technical aspects related to Planning, design and construction of Water and Sanitation facilities in the Board area.
  • Ensuring design, construction and maintenance standards are adhered to and maintained.
  • Coordination of Boards strategic and business plans for development of water and sanitation infrastructure in the Board area.
  • Design and development of appropriate and cost effective models for water appropriation, storage purification and distribution.
  • Design and development of strategies to reduce unaccounted for water (UFW), achieve desired operational efficiency and improvement
  • Promoting, developing and contracting sustainable and viable Water Service Providers in urban and rural schemes.
  • Preparation of contract documents, reports and other statutory documents required by Government or development partners.
  • Development of project proposals and liaise with development partners for funding
  • Supervising and monitoring of urban and rural water service providers
  • Preparing, executing and enforcing compliance to water and sanitation service agreements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
