ADRA Somalia Training Consultancy Job

The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Somalia is an International Non - Governmental Organization registered in Kenya and operating in Somalia.

ADRA is seeking services of experienced consultants to carry out the following trainings:

1. Kitchen Gardening, Cookery, Nutrition and Enterpreneurial Skills

Training objective:

To train women and men representatives drawn from farmers groups working with partnership with ADRA in agriculture and food security sector activities:

Consultant’s Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Training on Kitchen gardening, Cooking, Nutrition Education and Hygiene.
• Training on seeds and seedlings production techniques.
• Training in agro-based livelihoods, food processing and preservation.
• Training in group dynamics, marketing and entrepreneurial skills.
• To develop, customize and prepare a practical training manuals for follow up and reference by farmers groups.

Qualifications and Expertise of the Consultants:

• Technically competent in training communities in nutrition, cookery, food processing and preservation, sustainable agriculture for kitchen gardens/demo farms, agro based industries, marketing and entrepreneurship skills. The consultants need good and proven trainers with excellent training skills and methodologies suitable for adult learning.
• Proven track record as trainers in nutrition, cookery, marketing and entrepreneurship skills.
• Ability to train well in a team and train adults with low education levels
• Immediate availability to undertake the assignment.

2. Wash Sector Stakeholders in Water Management, Institutional Capacity Building and Conflict Mitigation

Training objective:

To train water stakeholders in water management, institutional capacity building, conflict mitigation and resolution, repairs, maintenance and sustainability of rehabilitated water point sources and systems.

Consultant’s Responsibilities and Tasks:

• To formulate solutions against conflict mitigation of destruction of water points and also ways of resolving and mitigating conflicts and insecurity issues pertaining to water disputes hence promote sustainability of the newly rehabilitated/reconstructed water point sources.
• Train water stakeholders in water management issues and design an adaptable, acceptable and suitable institutional framework for the people.
• To train disaster management and coping mechanisms especially coping strategies and mechanisms related to droughts and flood controls.
• Training in the establishment of an institutional framework and the capacity building needed by recommending the establishment of institutional framework.
• Define mandate, roles and responsibilities of such institutions/ministry based on the given recommendations.
