Sense International (East Africa) is recruiting to fill the position of Regional Finance Manager.
Reporting to the Director, the Regional Finance Manager will be responsible for two broad areas: Financial Management and Capacity Building of partners.
1. Financial Management

Sense International (East Africa) is recruiting to fill the position of Regional Finance Manager.
Reporting to the Director, the Regional Finance Manager will be responsible for two broad areas: Financial Management and Capacity Building of partners.
1. Financial Management
- Development of financial policies and systems for the organisation
- Ensuring adherence to accounting procedures and systems, and that internal controls are observed for compliance with donor contracts.
- Preparation of budgets and monitoring of budget expenditure
- Preparation of periodic management accounts and financial reports to Sense International (UK) and donors including the European Union
- Analysis of Country offices monthly cash requests and processing of funds transfer.
- General office book-keeping
- Management of petty cash
- Bank and ledger reconciliations
- Maintenance of Fixed Assets records
- Liaising with external auditors.
2. Capacity Building
- Assessment of potential partners’ financial management capacity.
- Developing and implementing a financial capacity building plan for all organisations of deaf blind people
- Ensuring timely disbursement of approved grants to partners.
- Monitoring the accounting by partner organisations of grants extended to them by Sense International (East Africa) and its donors.
- Maintenance of grants procedures.
- Strengthening accounting skills amongst organisations of deafblind people
Qualifications, Competencies, Skills and Experience:
- Professional accounting qualification of CPA (K), a Bachelor of Commerce degree or its equivalent, and a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.
- Knowledge of the Enabler accounting package or proven experience with relevant accounting packages.
- Training and facilitation skills for building the financial management capability of partner organisations.
- Strong analytical skills and innovative to provide practical solutions.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in computer skills, including word-processing, spreadsheets, accounting applications and email / Internet applications.
- Demonstration of the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
This post will be located in Nairobi, and local terms will apply.

The person should be able to work with minimum supervision, and must be willing to travel frequently and widely throughout the East Africa region.
