Save the Children Sweden started working in Eastern and Central Africa in 1965. Today, we have offices in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Nairobi, Kenya; and Khartoum, Sudan.
Through long-term child-rights based development programs, we focus on building the capacity of local people, community-based structures and organizations by working with local partners. In Eastern and Central Africa, we work with more than forty different non-governmental organizations and government bodies.
All of the work in the region focuses on children’s rights, and tackles issues that affect marginalized children. The core of the work focuses on children affected by conflict, education, discrimination, abuse, exploitation, and HIV/AIDS. Our focus also includes child participation and good governance in the best interest of the child.
The Nairobi Regional Office is offering a Consultancy for the development of Logistics Policy and Procedures
SCS Eastern and Central Africa Region requires the development of policies and procedures relating to the management of logistics within the Regional Office.
The consultant will be required to review existing policies and procedures in order to identify gaps and weaknesses compared to best practices. This will be inclusive but not limited to current SCS documentation. Based on this review, propose and develop comprehensive policies and procedures for the management of logistics in SCS ECAf.

SCS Eastern and Central Africa Region requires the development of policies and procedures relating to the management of logistics within the Regional Office.
The consultant will be required to review existing policies and procedures in order to identify gaps and weaknesses compared to best practices. Tasks
- Analyse the key issues related to the management of support functions with specific logistics focus. This may include;
- Discussions with the Support Team, Finance and Administration Officer and members of the Senior Management Team
- Documentation analysis
- Reviews of comparable or related organisations
- Development of detailed Logistics Policy and Procedures
Key
deliverables and expected timeframe
- Review of current documentation and discussions with required staff members (2 days)
- Draft logistics policy and procedures (10 days)
- Final detailed logistics policy and procedures (6 days)
Required
qualifications
- Field experience in support functions, with strong logistics experience
- Experience with Save the Children, with understanding of the CPH process
- Proven ability to develop high quality manuals
- Proven ability to develop procedures that are practical and policies that comply to SC CPH standards (where available)
