The Role

Oxfam GB wishes to change the programme narrative in the Horn East and Central African region. We aim to design and implement every programme with women’s rights embedded at the core. As a member of the Regional Programme Support Team, you will work closely with the Regional and Country Programmes to ensure that this happens.

This will mean developing medium and long term strategies that will work in the challenging context of this region. It means having to develop processes along with the programme teams and take the teams along on this journey.

The Person

You need to have proven long term experience and understanding of a broad range of issues and concepts around poor women’s rights. Experience of working in the Horn of East and Central Africa region is essential.

You will need to posses strong influencing skills, demonstrable flexibility, tenacity and proven technical competence in women’s rights frameworks.

You will be a strong conceptual, analytical and critical thinker.

You will have good communication and facilitation skills and the experience of supporting within multicultural teams and a variety of levels of seniority.

You will need to have an excellent grasp of latest sector thinking and standards.

This role involves considerable travel, up to 50% of the time.
