Lutheran World Federation / Department for World Service Kenya Program is seeking to recruit Kenyan nationals for the following positions to be based in Dadaab Refugee Camp.
Tailoring Instructor
Duties and responsibilities:-
- Prepare a detailed course outline or training programme for the tailoring group.
- Conduct tests and form classes based on the levels of competence of the trainees.
- Carry out regular tests to gauge the level of retention of the skill among the trainees and prepare them for any relevant external examination.
- Recommend the relevant training programme or methodology that can be adopted and advise the livelihoods sector on the best approach to take in carrying out the tailoring training in Kambioos camp.
- Prepare a training calendar for trainees in Kambioos Livelihood centre
- Conduct trainings on daily basis to ensure the participants gain the necessary skills and competences to make good quality dresses.
- Keep records of performance of the trainees
- Prepare regular weekly and monthly reports of the activity
- Be in charge of the assets and equipment at the training centre.
- Support the livelihood team in whichever duties as may be delegated by the Livelihoods officer.
Professional qualifications and personal attributes
- The trainer must have at least a suitable Diploma in dress making/tailoring or fashion design
- Fluent in English (Somali language will be an added advantage)
- Must be a Kenyan national
- 2 Years experience
