Kuria Women Empowerment Project (KWEP): SOTENI Kenya (SK), in collaboration with the Danish NGO, Forum for International Cooperation (FIC), is about to commence the implementation of an initiative targeted at socio-economic empowerment of women in Kuria.
The development objective of the project is increased economic and social empowerment of women in Kuria East and West.
Through training the project aims to increase and improve the income generating activities of the women as well as to increase the awareness of HIV/AIDS and equal rights among the women and in the communities

Duties and responsibilities of the PC include:
- Overseeing of all project activities
- Be main contact point for SK, FIC, the project beneficiaries, project staff and the Steering Committee of the KWEP project.
- Timely reporting (quarterly progress and financial reports) to the Steering Committee of the KWEP project, to FIC and to the program manager of SOTENI Kenya.
- Cash handling and financial reporting of locally incurred costs to SOTENI Kenya (e.g. a monthly cash report incl. documentation expenses is submitted to Nairobi).
- Planning, coordinating, implementing and monitoring on the activities in the project area, in line with the project document and the decisions made by the Steering Committee
- Procurements
- Preparing Terms of Reference (ToR) for consultants etc.
Minimum
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in project management/administration or other relevant area.
- At least 2-3 years of working experience working with socio-economic empowerment in the rural Kenya.
- Experiences with training and capacity building
- Experiences with project reporting
- Experiences with monitoring and evaluation
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili and Kuria language.
- Must have basic computer skills: MS Office Suite and internet use.

The PC will work together with the part time Assistant Coordinator (AC) on the KWEP project, which is implemented from June 2012 until March 2014.
The employment starts at June 1st 2012 and ends on March 31st 2014.
The AC and PC will be working in an office in Kehancha, Kuria and collaborate with the Steering Committee of the KWEP project.
The PC refers to the Program Manager and Business Manager of SOTENI Kenya (based in Nairobi).
