Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated five-year, USAID-funded Strengthening Somalia's National Parliament project. 
The project aims to build the deliberative capacities of the country's legislatures to promote good governance and promote stability, reconciliation, and peace-building in the state formation process. 
We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between Chemonics and USAID/East Africa
  • Oversee day-to-day management and implementation of legislative strengthening activities
  • Ensure quality control
  • Manage long- and short-term personnel
  • Guarantee appropriateness and responsiveness of assistance
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a relevant social or administrative science required
  • Minimum 10 years of experience with USAID or other donor-funded legislative strengthening programs or working at the management-level within a legislature, preferably in a fragile or post-conflict environment
  • Progressively responsible managerial experience implementing complex donor-funded activities and motivating a culturally diverse workforce
  • Track record of being a proactive project director or successful chief of party who collaborates effectively with counterparts, other contractors, and donors
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity 
  • Fluency in English required; Somali language skills highly desired
