Vacancies in the Position of Member Of The Parliamentary Service Commission
The Parliamentary Service Commission is established under Article 127 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and is mandated, among other things, to provide services and facilities to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of Parliament.
Article 127 (2) of the
Constitution provides that the Parliamentary Service Commission shall
consist of, among others, one man and one woman appointed by Parliament
from among persons who are experienced in public affairs, but are not
Members of Parliament.
The Parliamentary Service
Commission now invites applications for the two (2) vacant positions
for Member of the Parliamentary Service Commission under Article
127(2)(d) of the Constitution from interested persons, other than
Members of Parliament.
A person shall not be
qualified for appointment as a member of the Commission under Article
127(2)(d) of the Constitution unless such person:
- is a citizen of Kenya;
- holds a degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
- has at least ten years experience in public affairs; and
- meets the requirements of leadership and integrity in Chapter Six of the Constitution.
