Resident Civil / Structural Engineer

28 - Month Contract
 

Job Purpose: Reporting to the Project Civil / Structural Engineer, the job holder will undertake field construction, supervision and detailing.
 

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervision of the Isiolo Passenger Terminal Building, Offices and Parking to ensure implementation as per the bills of quantities, set work plan and standards
• Able to work independently
• Responsible for design development, project management and site supervision; supervise works on site on behalf of the Project Civil/Structural Engineer
• Co-ordinate the civil, structural and M&E works
• Solve technical and construction issues of the site, improve the design works
• Ensure all site works are of good quality and are in compliance with the contract drawings, specifications and approved drawings.
• Assist the Project Civil/Structural Engineer in technical matters assigned
• Carry out value engineering works where possible and advise the Project Manager and Civil/Structural Engineer from time to time
• Provide civil/structural design solutions to minor works on site including temporary works to facilitate construction works on site
• Ensures the maintenance and improvement of KAA QMS

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from a recognized University
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience including project site experience
• Experience in commercial, office and high-rise buildings is preferred
• Knowledge and application of engineering software, including Aut0CAD
• Knowledge and application of MS Office and Excel is a must
• Registration with the Engineers Registration Board.
• Experience in developing bills of quantities, cost estimates and specifications.
• Have knowledge of tender and contract documentation and administration.
• Must possess good Communication and report writing skills
