KCDF is seeking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated individual to support the Institutional Fundraising function within its programme development department.

This position works very closely with the Programme Director in mobilizing institutional funding to support the mission and strategic goals of KCDF, specifically programme development funding.
The holder of this position will be a key contributor to the growth of the programme funding portfolio; the day to day management of data and information of current and future donors to KCDF’s work; S/He must be able to accurately interpret KCDF’s strategic development goals and objectives, align them to the national development priorities and translate those ideas into resource mobilization opportunities.
S/He must be proficient in proposal writing and a fast learner able to work in a highly technical team.

- Interpretation of the KCDF’s development goals and objectives into innovative fundraising opportunities
- Coordinating concept and proposals development between the programme and other functions in KCDF e.g. finance and M&E
- Proposals writing and development
- Ensuring accurate and up-to date database is maintained of all the funders and contributors to KCDF work
- Coordinating with the M&E function to ensure timely submission of donor reports as per the signed agreements with KCDF.
- Working with KCDF’s Programme Director to grow the funding and to ensure sustainability of the work of KCDF with communities
Key qualifications required:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in relevant business or development studies. An advanced university degree is an added advantage
- At least 5 years experience in project/programme development and implementation of economic and livelihoods initiatives targeting rural and urban communities.
- Progressive experience in fundraising and resource mobilization with demonstrable success across various sectors of community development
- Excellent communication, writing, interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills
- Proven leadership, management, organizational and networking skills
- Experience in grants making and multi donor arrangements is a key qualification
- Ability to work in a team environment and to be flexible, versatile and open minded in contributing to other relevant organization goals and objectives.
