Career Opportunity: Program Manager
SOKOPEPE Limited, a social enterprise supporting the agricultural sector in Kenya by offering market information and farm records management services is rolling a Farm Records Management Information System (FARMIS).
FARMIS is a diagnostic tool based on the use of farm records. Also being rolled out is SOKO+, a digital commodity trading and information system, linking small scale farmers to end retailers/bulk purchasers of produce.
Terms of Reference
- Ensures coordination and implementation of FARMIS activities in Meru
- Supports coordination and management of the enterprise on a day-to-day basis
- Coordinates the work of PIAs to ensure attainment of set milestones
- Provide administrative and technical support for any assignments required by senior management
- Assist in recruitment and training of PIAs as and when this becomes necessary
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agricultural economics, marketing or related field
- Demonstrable experience working with farmers
- Good computer skills
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Ability to supervise and mentor a team of PIAs
- Ability to formulate and manage budgets
- Experience in resource mobilisation from donors is an added advantage
- Knowledge of the local language will be an added advantage
