Main Purpose of the
Job:

To provide oversight and management for all programmes and ensure their quality and the achievement of set goals and results.

Objectives:
  • To develop relevant, effective and sustainable programme strategies, objectives, goals and plans within the organisation’s strategic framework;
  • In liaison with the General Manager to coordinate the implementation and general management of the organisation’s programmes and ensure that programme results are achieved effectively and efficiently.
  • To ensure that programme implementation and results are properly monitored and evaluated, thereby assuring that they have the desired impact.
  • In liaison with the General manager to ensure adequate programme reporting to relevant stakeholders
  • In liaison with the General Manager ensure a positive image of the organization.
  • To oversee the work of programme staff and provide encouragement and direction where necessary.
  • To ensure that a sound monitoring and evaluation system is in place that provides a sound basis for the development of new programmes or initiatives.
  • In liaison with the General Manager to ensure that there are adequate resources for the implementation of all programmes.

Qualifications:
  • Preferably a postgraduate degree in a relevant social science discipline

  • Sound knowledge of the development sector and the socio economic and political situation in Kenya.
