The Kenya Tea Development Agency Holdings Limited (KTDA) is Kenya’s premier tea organization providing management services to the small holder tea farmers for effective production, processing and marketing of high quality tea. KTDA is currently managing 65 factories.
 
KTDA would like to engage qualified Individual consultants to submit technical and financial proposal for the Design, Specification, Documentation and Training Services for Orthodox Manufacturing.
 
The Request for Proposal documents can be obtained from the office of the Group Head of Procurement at KTDA Farmer’s Building Moi Avenue Nairobi. 

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable tender processing fee of 50 US Dollars or equivalent in Kenya Shillings payable at the cash office located on the 5th floor of KTDA Farmers Building.

Expression of Interest for an IP Telephony System

Background 

Consolidated Bank of Kenya Limited is a commercial banking institution licensed under section 15 of the Banking Act and has 17 Branches spread across the country.
The Bank wishes to engage a supplier for the installation and maintenance of an IP Telephony System. 

The system is expected to reduce the cost of telephone communication within the Bank and externally and in addition, to provide a reliable communicating medium.

The objective

The overall objectives of the assignment are:

To provide a centralized VOIP Telephony Solution that will consolidate hardware and support the 17 Branches and Head Office communication.

The new interconnected VoIP telecommunications solution must be easy to use, operate within the Banks current wide area network infrastructure and offer advanced integration.
To this end Consolidated Bank of Kenya Ltd invites expression of interest from eligible suppliers to supply, install and  maintain the IP Telephony System.

Interested firms or consortiums should submit the following documents along with signed and sealed Letter of Expression of Interest:
i. Detailed company profile

ii. List of verifiable previous experiences of similar installation within the last three years

iii. Copies of registration certificates and business licenses

iv. Audited financial statement for the past three years

Professional Requirements
  • Suppliers with at least 5 years relevant professional experience and proven track record in the local Banking sector.
  • Relevant certification.
  • Strong knowledge of IP Telephony.
  • Evidence of similar solutions implemented and serviced in Kenya.

The role will be charged with the responsibility of contract administration, project organization, cost control, and quality assurance of the entire project.
 
Main Responsibilities
  • To prepare a construction manual outlining routines and procedures to be applied in contract management supervision and administration.

  • Prepare and submit to the project manager:
  1. Monthly progress reports
  2. Quarterly reports
  3. Technical reports as necessary
  4. Final completion reports and any
  • Conduct post construction inspections and follow up action during defects liability period including preparation of a preventive maintenance system for Airport facilities, at Kisumu Airport.
  • Issue a Defects Liability Certificate upon completion of the defect s liability period so that the Performance Bonds can be released.
  • Prepare and submit final built drawing, maintenance and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • To advise KAA on all matters relating to claims from the contractor and to make recommendations thereon, including the possible recourse to arbitration.
Qualifications
  • Bsc. Civil Engineering.
  • Registered Engineer with Kenya Engineers Board or an internationally recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 15 years professional experience with 10 years on relevant project management/supervision of projects of similar nature, magnitude and complexity .

Project Manager - JKIA Expansion Project

Contract Duration: Three Years
 
Job Purpose: Provide overall responsibility of co-ordination and management of the Consultants and the contractors and ensure quality and timely delivery of works
 
Main Responsibilities
  • Shall be the Team leader to provide a conducive environment for performance of the responsibilities by members of the management unit to achieve the goals of delivering the improvement works on time, within cost, and to required expectation on quality.
  • Liaison between the Authority, the Consultants, the Contractors and stakeholders to ensure performance of the improvement works with minimum interference in airport operations.
  • Liaison between the Authority, Consultant and other concerned Government Departments to ensure approvals are carried out expeditiously.
  • Reviews and approve the project designs, specications and construction plans taking into consideration the requirements of, the Authority, National, ICAO, FAA, IATA and other requirements of Regulatory Authorities.
  • Ensure that public procurement are complied with in tender documentation, recommendation for award and procurement procedures are followed.
  • Approve Consultants Establishment of Procedure Reports e.g. procedure for issue of site instructions, method statements, work program, and the Contractor’s Program of Works.
  • Ensure all quality assurances measures are followed by the Contractor and the Consultant to ensure high quality standards of the works, highlight to the KAA management areas which would require changes either in cost or design to improve the overall quality of the product.
  • Receive, evaluate and recommend timely payments to the Consultant and the Contractors.
  • Receiving any contractual claims and vetting the Consultants Recommendations for project cost control.
  • Follow up on all inspections, commissioning tests are carried out and issuance of Taking Over Certificates, Vetting all As-built Drawings Vet and approve preparation of Construction Completion Report.
  • Post-contract period management
Qualifications and Experience
  • A University Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registration with the Engineers Board of Kenya or any other recognized body
  • A minimum of ten (10) years experience three (3) of which must have been in Project Management and supervision

Purpose: Process all accounts payable functions including Kenya Shilling petty cash for Nairobi based staff. Provide general support to the accounts department.

Responsibilities:
  • Paying out petty cash requests in Kenya Shillings.
  • Making sure the Kenya shillings petty cash float is sufficient to avoid inconveniences to staff.
  • Preparing petty cash reports for replenishment purposes.
  • Facilitating bank withdrawals of cash requests that are above authorized petty cash limits.

  • Working in conjunction with country accountants on various issues.

Qualifications & Experience
  1. CPAK/ACCA holder from a recognized institution with a minimum of one year experience in a similar position.
  2. Familiarity with not-for-profit Accounting systems will be required.
  3. Experience working with an NGO or UN agencies an added advantage.
  4. Above average functional knowledge of MS Office suit.
  5. Strong analytical and writing skills.

The Online Communications Officer position, based in Nairobi, will coordinate a full range of online activities and ensure the sites meet the highest quality standards.  

Principle duties include conceptualizing and producing new content in line with the regional communications strategy, overseeing time-bound campaigns, and coordinating online responses to development issues related to both the assigned countries and the region as a whole, including the use of social media tools. 

The position reports to the AFRSC Manager in Washington, who supervises and oversees the work program of the region’s communications team.

Duties and Accountabilities
 
The Kenya Country Hub Online Communications Officer plays a strong content coordination and project management role in the day-to-day operation of the hub’s sites, as well as coordinating with to the AFR Communications Team. 

Among the principal responsibilities of the position are:
  • Ensuring that the sites within the hub are operated in alignment with appropriate vice-presidential and corporate priorities, as well as with the Bank’s web-related policies.
  • Preparing and maintaining web editorial calendars in coordination with the AFR web team and country office communications staff.
  • Planning and integrating the use of social media and other audience engagement tools as part of the regional strategy.

Selection Criteria
  • Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Relations/Public Affairs, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science or other related disciplines, with a minimum of 5 years (with master’s) or 10 years (with bachelor’s) of  relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years experience in writing and/or editing for the web.
  • Proven writing and editing skills, with a strong command of English and the ability to convey complex ideas in a creative, clear, direct, and lively style.
  • Knowledge and applied work experience in social media principles and Web 2.0 technologies sufficient to execute, lead or advise others in assuring that online communication and audience engagement tools and channels are fully leveraged.
  • Ability to initiate and manage a continuing editorial process and to conceptualize and execute the online packaging of content.
