Key performance areas for the role:-
 
The Club Secretary (CEO) shall:
  • Develop and monitor the performance of financial and operational plans; develop the annual budget and business plan, and make recommendations for capital improvements to enhance the assets
  • Oversee the delivery of superior services to all guests ensuring the utmost quality and care is delivered including prompt response to requests and the effective resolution of all complaints to the satisfaction of guests
  • Ensure that product quality and service standards are met in all areas of the Club as pertains to physical appearance, maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance programs to protect the physical assets of the Club
  • Maximize food and beverage revenues by ensuring optimal use of banquet/outlet space and most cost-effective management of the Club's food and beverage outlets
  • Oversee the security function to ensure a safe and secure environment for club members, guests, employees, and club assets.
  • Establish and maintains a proactive human resources function to ensure employee motivation, training and development, pay and benefit administration, and compliance with policies and procedures and local labor regulations.

2. Chief Accountant

Key performance areas for the role:-
  • Support the Club’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.
  • Responsible for knowing critical functions within the department and capable of mentoring and assisting employees within the department. Utilize teamwork to develop departmental synergy
  • Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits
  • Preparation of the monthly statutory accounts and financial statements under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and IFRS. Monitors compliance with club procedures and other legislation
  • Report, analyze, and ensure integrity of all financial information.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

Summary of the job
  • Responsible for the management and achievement of profit for all food and beverage operations in the hotel including restaurants, bars, kitchen operations, catering and banquet operations.
Key performance areas for the role:-
 
The F&B Manager shall:
  • Oversee the management of restaurants and bars
  • Oversee the management of the kitchen operations
  • Oversee the management of banquet operations
  • Communicate regularly with food and beverage staff and conduct effective staff briefings
  • With procurement department develop and monitor the implementation of purchasing procedures
  • Achieve budgeted revenues, prepare monthly forecast, monitor and control food, beverage and labor costs, and maximize profitability within all areas of the food and beverage department.

Responsibilities
  • Is in charge of the Economic Security Programme in the respective assigned region and therefore plans, organises and monitors the implementation of the assistance programme according to institutional objectives.
  • Carries out assessment according to the EcoSec Framework and drafts proposals and reports, as per the standard formats and guidelines provided by the EcoSec Framework.
  • Maintains contacts with relevant interlocutors at the assigned regional level.
  • Monitors the programs based on the framework and produces reports against defined indicators.

As a member of the Regional Programme Support Team, the Regional Change Lead is expected to work closely with the Regional Programme Quality Lead and programmes to ensure the embedding of poor women’s rights in the heart of all programming.

The role
  • Work closely with the Regional Aim 5 lead Develop a strategy & process for design and implementation of programmes though the perspective of poor women’s rights
  • Work closely in development, humanitarian and advocacy programmes to incorporate poor women’s rights in the design
  • Help develop gender sensitive outcomes and indicators in the M&E systems for programmes
  • Accompany selected programmes closely and provide them support to enhance overall programme quality in accordance with the regional strategy on the same.
  • Provide support to relevant regional technical / thematic advisers to ensure that they are able to provide effective support around poor women’s rights in their areas of work
  • Work with Oxfam GB corporate leads on facilitating implementation of corporate initiatives around poor women’s rights
  • Support country gender and poor women’s rights staff in technical aspects of their work. Work will mostly be with non-gender specialists.
The Person
  • Understanding of a broad range of issues and concepts around poor women’s rights in the context of programming in the Horn East and Central Africa region
  • Strong technical competence in gender issues, women’s rights frameworks, learning
  • Demonstrable understanding and minimum 10 years of direct experience of long-term development, humanitarian response and campaigns and advocacy work
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and understanding of practical issues faced by programme managers in implementing programmes in HECA
  • Strong influencing skills especially in dealing with country management teams and advisers / managers in Oxfam House.

In East Africa, AKF supports programming in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda that contributes to a better quality of life for hundreds of communities. Working in education, rural economic development, health, and civil society, AKF leverages its global experiences and partnerships to bring new ideas to East Africa.
 
AKF in collaboration with the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Kenya has been piloting and adopting innovative and relevant approaches to expand education opportunities and improve learning outcomes for children in targeted primary schools in marginalized areas in Coast and North Eastern Provinces (NEP) of Kenya since September 2011. 

This joint initiative is piloting and validating new interventions as well as consolidating existing interventions with plan to scale up successful interventions. 

AKF has been working in 106 primary schools in the North Eastern and Coast Province in this phase implementing the following interventions.

AKF is planning to conduct a study to assess whether the set of interventions delivered by AKF improved learning outcomes in the intervention schools and the implications of these results for MOE, AKF and development partners.
