Establish and maintain the design integrity of electrical equipment and systems. 
 
Minimum Requirements
  • To be able to assure that electrical installations conform to the latest safety guidelines with reference to the British Standards Institution (BSI) or local equivalent and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) as codified in   BS 7671, Requirements for Electrical Installations.
  • BS 7671 applies to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, also additions and alterations to existing installations.
  • Training in BS 7671 standards will be agreed and required to complete the duties.

Job Specification - Electrical Safety Engineer
 
Design
  • Inspect and evaluate existing electrical generation and distribution systems
  • Identify standards used in the design of existing electrical systems and determine appropriate standards to be used in areas where none are defined
  • Check and update as-built electrical drawings for camp installations
  • Prepare schematic drawings, sketches, and reports to reflect changes or alterations made in equipment, circuits, and systems in accordance with TBL management of change procedures
Maintenance
  • Lead electrical maintenance activities
  • Develop work routines and job plans to deliver a high level of reliability and sustainability for electrical equipment
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are safely conducted using the correct maintenance techniques and procedures
  • Carry out troubleshooting of electrical systems
CMMS
  • Assist in setting up and populating the CMMS by collecting and reviewing base data for all electrical equipment, establishing schedules and task sheets, entering equipment histories – past and present
Supply chain
  • Co-operate with Materials Department to develop spares and consumables stocks and max/min levels
  • Identify and maintain contact with in-country suppliers of electrical equipment, spare parts, materials and rental equipment
Auditing
  • Audit existing electrical installations against agreed Company standards and issues action lists and develops scopes of work for staff and 3rd party contractors
  • Ensure that electrical installations conform to the latest safety guidelines with reference to the British Standards Institution (BSI) and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) as codified in BS 7671, applied to the design, erection and verification of electrical installations, also additions and alterations to existing installations
  • Assess all domestic, remote field camps and office Electrical installations in accordance with BS7671 2008
  • Load testing of circuitry

The objective of the consultancy is to provide an opinion on the state of finances (assets and liabilities) of the defunct local authorities in the county for the last three (3) years and assist the county in development of a cost effective, efficient and risk free revenue collection system.

The objectives of this assignment are to:
  • Identify Assets and Liabilities of the County.
  • Conduct a baseline review of the County’s revenue streams, assessment of revenue collection and reporting, revenue leakages, potential income streams and provide implementable recommendations;

The objective of this EOI is to identify an experienced revenue collection agent who will be responsible for collection of revenues.

S/He will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing of working advances, preparation of project returns and financial reports, reconciliations and balancing accounts as well as posting and compiling monthly financial reports to show records related to financial operations in the field offices.
 
Certified Public Accountant (CPA K ) or Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience in reputable organizations; experience working with a Non-Governmental Organizations and good knowledge of financial reporting systems in donor funded work will be an added advantage. 

Excellent computer skills with hands on experience on computerized accounting systems will be necessary for the job.

Project Officers

Medium Term Fellowship Program in Monitoring and Evaluation 


The University of Nairobi (UoN) in collaboration with the University of Washington (UW) through the support of the U.S. Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is implementing an innovative program to build capacity for leadership and management of Health Programs in Kenya. 

The Medium-term Fellowship will be offered to in-service professionals working in health-related programs. 

The purpose of the Fellowship is to build institutional capacity through training individuals in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E). 

The training will be 6 months in duration and is modular and work-based in nature, allowing trainees to undertake the Fellowship while they continue with their employment. 

Fellows will participate in several inter-related short courses lasting 1-2 weeks at specific intervals over the course of the Fellowship. 

Selected individuals will implement a hands-on, problem-based, project. 

The project should address existing institutional gaps and challenges, be based on institutional priorities, and selected with knowledge and involvement of management.

 The Medium-term Fellowship program will commence on 1st September 2013
