Job Summary
 
The Human Resources Officer position is a full-time position based in Nairobi, Kenya.  

The successful candidate will be responsible for staffing support which includes and is not limited to recruitment and selection, on-boarding and management of transitions, internal communication, and performance management and provides HR Services that exceed the expectations of internal clients. 

The successful candidate for the job should have excellent analytical skills, people management and negotiation skills. 

The successful candidate should be highly organized and also demonstrate strong communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

Staffing
  • Ensure vacant positions are analyzed, documented and approved.
  • Position openings within the organization are widely communicated
  • Qualified candidates are recruited
  • External recruiting activities are planned  and coordinated
  • Appropriate selection process and criteria are defined for each process
  • Conduct the selection process
  • Manage transitions of staff from one department to another (in case of internal recruitments)
  • Process offer letters/ contracts for all successful candidates (in liaison with HR Manager)
  • Conduct reference checks for all successful candidates
  • Communicate reporting date to successful candidate and all documentation required on first day.
  • Ensure compliance to on-boarding plans for all newly staff recruited and those transitioning to other roles.

Performance Management
  • Disseminate yearly performance calendar
  • Ensure performance plans are in place for all staff/team  and performance is documented for each and every staff
  • Performance reports are  done for staff for both 3 and 6 months and submitted
  • Ensure teams are adhering to the performance policies that have been put in place
  • Monitor for contract lapses and transition of staff- trigger for staff changes to the HR team for updating of benefits etc
  • Ensure documentation of all Performance Improvement Plans and terminations due to performance are available in staff files.
Communication & Co-ordination
  • Ensure that information is shared across the organization
  • Monitor and review the Communication process
  • Monitor staff issue log and ensure the concerns raised are logged and have them addressed by relevant persons.
  • Support teams  in coordinating their activities to accomplish their targets
  • Communication and coordination practices are institutionalized to ensure they are performed as managed process
HR Services
  • Maintain official staff personnel files and ensure updated HRIS
  • Serve as the liaison between Sanergy staff and benefit providers (such as health insurance)
  • HR administration, such as leave management, maintenance of staff records, compensation and benefits administration and record keeping
  • Ensure that enquiries in HR office are dealt with promptly and courteously
  • Ensure and coordinate employee safety, welfare, wellness, and health reporting and employee services
Learning and Development
  • Ensure updated staff development plans
  • Communicate all training dates and updates
  • Ensure completed training records and updated in HRIS
Requirements
  • Understanding, knowledge and experience in HR functional areas ( 2 years minimum requirement)
  • Conversant with Kenyan Labor laws, International Labor laws, statutory compliance requirements and understanding of best practices
  • Degree in Business Administration or any other business related course
  • Higher Diploma from the Institute of Human Resource Management
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Knowledge of Kiswahili, experience working in urban informal settlements or other low income communities a plus but not required.

Job Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

Business and Operations Analysis
  • Understand the objectives and metrics of each Sanergy department, and ensure that each department is operating as effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Develop budget and financial planning systems and processes to integrate financial results into the day-to-day operations of every department through monthly analysis of business results and metric variances.
  • Work with mid-level management, providing them financial information and metrics, empowering them to become exceptional, pro-active leaders.
  • Understand and develop grant budgeting and financial organizational and reporting systems for proposal development, grant management and grant audits.
  • Analyze departmental budget gaps to effectively assign departmental budgets to current grants in order to accurately forecast fundraising needs and strategy.
Project Support
  • Serve as an advisor for divisional teams and liaise with the Insights and Innovations team on improving operational efficiency through executing core company interventions and analysis of sales, gross profit and operational performance, including ad hoc analysis of sales driving initiatives, product cost and new product tests.
  • Develop and execute upon financial monitoring systems to understand the effectiveness of interventions initiated by the operating departments and the Insights and Innovations team.
Forecasting
  • Participate in monthly and multi-year financial forecasts, typically working with team leads, senior management and the broader organization to understand and test key forecast assumptions and run alternate scenarios.
  • Develop analysis processes and strategies for measurement of P&L impact, capital budgeting and return on capital of Sanergy projects and initiatives. Provide analytical to support to senior management. 
Requirements

The Special Projects Associate – Fellows Program Coordinator would primarily be responsible for designing and running a Sanergy Fellows Program. 

The first year the associate would scope out the program from start to finish: sourcing and hiring fellows, developing partnerships with universities, marketing of the program, project selection, fellow management, and on-boarding. 

In following years, the fellows program coordinator would  develop the future strategy of the Fellows Program and build longer-term partnerships.

  • Conversant with Kenyan labor laws, international labor laws, statutory compliance requirements and understanding of best practices;
  • Experience in CBA negotiations in a strong union environment;
  • Excellent leadership, people management, communication and facilitation skills;
  • Conversant with HRMIS particularly in an ERP environment.
Marketing Manager

Reporting to the Marketing Director, Marketing Manager manage and control the consistent profitable growth of the designated portfolio by taking full charge of the portfolio or categories; guiding the category long term strategy; championing operational relations/communication at all levels and ensuring yearly plans are developed, implemented and achieved both in Kenya and Export countries. 

S/he will focus on increasing designated portfolio in store presence in target market, strengthening the company’s brands, optimizing product assortment and promotional strategy and translating brand marketing actions into winning customer marketing actions across all channels of trade.

Key Qualification, Experience & Skills
  • Degree in business field with a bias in marketing;
  • MBA or relevant post-graduate qualifications is an added advantage;
  • At least 7 years of experience, 3 years of which must be in an FMCG environment;
  • Demonstrated experienced in brand management with strong business acumen;
  • Strong negotiator with good understanding of market trends;
  • Project Management and basic financial skills;
  • Good interpersonal and people management skills;
  • Strategic thinker with excellent computer skills
