Regional Sales Manager

Reporting to the Country Business Manager Nestlé Professional, the Regional Sales Manager will be based in the Regional Head office in Nairobi, Kenya.
The person will be responsible for driving sales targets/objectives and overall strategic regional development in 5 key countries mainly Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Congo within the Equatorial African Region.

Regional Sales Manager

Reporting to the Country Business Manager Nestlé Professional, the Regional Sales Manager will be based in the Regional Head office in Nairobi, Kenya.
The person will be responsible for driving sales targets/objectives and overall strategic regional development in 5 key countries mainly Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Congo within the Equatorial African Region.
Key Responsibilities will be to;
- Develop branch sales strategy to be incorporated within the Equatorial African Regional Plan;
- Identify branch sales opportunities and potential for operational plan (OPL) input and plan for future needs;
- Manage and develop branch distributor in an active and profitable manner;
- Ensure implementation of regional & channel strategy;
- Develop effective customer/consumer promotions in the priority channels to drive sales with existing customers and recruit new customers;
- Ensure product availability at all relevant outlets through the distributor’s sales force as per Company guidelines;
- Leading, coaching and developing Area Sales Managers to implement the channel and customer plans and achieve the desired in-store conditions and sales objectives at the store level;
- Provide feedback to marketing team on trends and competition as input for innovation.
The ideal candidate should possess the following minimum skills and competencies;
- Bachelor of Business or Commerce degree in Sales or Marketing or a related field from a recognized university;
- Minimum 8-10 years experience in sales management with strong key account and customer management experience, preferably with an FMCG background;
- Good working knowledge and experience within the East and Central African region preferably in the countries mentioned above;
- Excellent people management skills, with ability to achieve results through others;
- Excellent interpersonal skills with good selling and negotiation skills.
