Our focus of work includes improving access to healthcare, education and food provision to children and their families.
Millions of people across East Africa are currently experiencing serious food insecurity, and children are among the worst affected.
The cause of this emergency is not just the lack of rain but a combination of underlying factors.

We are currently recruiting for 3 positions:
1. Consortium Coordinator
1 year contract based in Nairobi
The Consortium Coordinator will have overall leadership and management responsibility for the South Central Cash Consortium which will be implementing the Food Assistance program for Vulnerable Households in South Central Somalia.
She/he will take the lead in Advocacy and Communications in particular plan and deliver targeted and effective messages to raise awareness of the plight of households that are currently experiencing the food security crisis in South Central Somalia.
Person Specification
A Post graduate degree in Social Sciences or equivalent and least 10 years experience in a project management role..
This position requires the demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships and create awareness about the current food security crisis in Southern Somalia.
2. Emergency Finance & Grants Advisor
6 months contract based in Nairobi
The Emergency Finance and Grants Advisor will have a leading role in ensuring that key processes are in place to ensure that grant risk assessment, proposals development processes, donor financial and non financial compliance, reporting information management system and reporting assurance mechanisms receive optimum attention, key direct support and targeted management recommendations.
Person Specification
At least 5 years experience in grants management INGOs.
You will need to have excellent understanding of donor compliance, strong command of financial eligibility issues and of key principles of donor accounting.
3. Deputy Area Representative
Reference: DAR100
6 months based in Nairobi
This role will be to lead, manage and guide the development, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting of Save the Children’s activities in Central South Somalia.
The post holder will lead, manage and motivate technical coordinators, ensuring they have clear objectives and receive meaningful feedback on their performance.
Person Specification
Significant experience of managing large humanitarian programmes including representation at a senior level.
Previous experience of managing and developing diversified teams and the ability to lead and motivate others.
You will need an in-depth understanding of emergency issues, particularly in relation to children.
