Title: Project Officer – Yes Youth Can, Nyanza

Purpose of the position:
Ensure the successful implementation of Yes Youth Can! Project activities and interventions aimed at improving workforce development initiatives for the youth and enhancing peace among Nyanza Province communities.
The incumbent will provide technical support, coordination and monitoring of project activities including but not limited to Youth Mobilization, Workforce Development, Entrepreneurship, Civic Participation, Conflict Mitigation and Peace Building by:
1) back stopping project activities,
2) technically supervising implementation of project activities and;
3) carrying out partner / sub grantees’ capacity building activities.

Qualifications
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
- Must have a minimum of a Bachelors degree (an advanced degree is preferred) in any of the Social Sciences or a related field from a recognized University;
- Must have a minimum of 3 years experience with regards to the designing, planning, implementation, supervising and reporting on youth led and youth focused initiatives
- Must have at least 3 years experience in youth-led programming preferably in the areas of youth mobilization, civic engagement, livelihoods and peace building initiatives;
- Have practical skills in research, monitoring and evaluation, training of trainers and report writing Must be computer literate in Office Suite (word, excel, access, project etc)
- Must be results oriented leader who can handle a heavy work load as well as manage and be accountable to the donor and other stakeholders;
