Job Title: Water & Sanitation (WASH) Project Officer
2 Positions
Moyale and Marsabit
Contract Duration: 6 months
Job Summary: Reporting to the Nutrition Project Manager (Moyale or Marsabit), the
position holder will be responsible for the implementation of the WASH
activities linking with the nutrition intervention as well as capacity building
of Community health workers.
The WASH Officers will work closely with District WASH Officer (DWO) and
District Public Health Officers (DPHOs) to assess and report on WASH situation
in Health Centres, schools/feeding centres, drought-affected communities and
identify options for repair or provision of necessary WASH infrastructure;
provide planning and technical support for training of Community Health Workers
on hygiene promotion; link WASH activities with Nutrition interventions and
support planning and monitoring of Rapid Hygiene Promotion campaigns among
other duties.
Person specification: BSc degree in Public Health, Environmental Science; at least three (3)
years working in community based WASH program; practical knowledge in design of
community WASH systems; good assessment, analytical and writing skills;
experience in training using participatory methodologies; good computer skills
and hands on experience.
