Job Context
All camps exist since 1992, put in place to respond to the onset of the civil war in Somalia.
They are planned to host 80.000 persons and are by exceeding its capacities. Mid of July statistics of UNHCR cite the staggering number of 380.000 refugees. In the last 6 months, 80.000 new arrivals were received in the camps.
Only the last two months saw 60.000 persons arriving feeling the drought and civil war, settling where they would find a place to put up their make shift shelters.
The rehabilitation project in Dadaab aims to provide and secure tangible and measurable improvement of independency in activities of daily living and quality of life of refugees living with physical impairment or disability.

Rehabilitation Technicians (Dadaab Camps and outskirts)

The Position
Rehabilitation Technicians (Dadaab Camps and outskirts)
Needed as soon as possible
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the technical part of the individual assessment of the needs of beneficiaries in terms of physical rehabilitation and other rehabilitation services' needs , as well as on potential needs for Assistive Devices (mobility aids, specific items, etc…).
- Elaborate and plan the appropriate response of Vulnerable Persons and Persons with vulnerabilities in terms of physical rehabilitation and other rehabilitation services...
- Implement and follow the response given and its impact.
- Support the teams for the activities they can implement related to rehabilitation and reinforce their capacities.
Profile:
- University degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent from KMTC.
- Planning skills.
- Languages: English (good level) / Swahili / Somali would be an asset
