Finance and Administration Assistant
CABI – Nairobi, Kenya
The Finance and Administration Assistant will report to the Finance and
Administration Manager and take responsibility for ensuring efficient and
effective provision of administrative and financial services support in CABI.
Established over 100 years ago, CABI is a not-for-profit science-based
development and information organization.
CABI improves people’s lives by providing information and applying scientific
expertise to solve problems in agriculture and the environment.
Our mission and direction is influenced by our member countries who help guide
the activities undertaken.
These include scientific publishing, development projects and research, and
microbial services.
Our activities are based principally in 2 major sites in the UK and 5
scientific centres globally.

The successful candidate will collect administrative and financial data and
check upon conformity with the policy and quality standards in place at CABI;
perform integration of administrative and financial information; provide
support in staff contractual issues; manage assets and facilities usage,
maintenance and servicing; undertake reconciliations; and provide timely
administrative and financial information, reports, feedback and recommendations
for reporting and budget monitoring.
He/she will have a first degree in business management with at least 3 years
relevant experience in management in a cross-cultural environment. Professional
accounting qualification
will be an added advantage and ability to use multiple ICT systems and software
is desirable.
The candidate shall have excellent administrative and communication skills with
ability to prioritise and manage diverse workloads, use initiative and
proactive thinking and pay attention to details. A good level of project
management skills in a cross-cultural environment is essential.
The individual should be dependable and trustworthy, with high level of
confidentiality and ability to cope well with changing environment.

Salary: Negotiable
but commensurate with skills, abilities and experience.
Position Type: 2 year initial appointment with a possibility of renewal.

Nairobi – Kenya.
