West Kenya Sugar Company Limited seeks to fill the
following vacancies in its establishment and invites qualified, competent and

1. Human Resources Officer
Ref: HRO - 1/2012
Reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Manager, the successful candidate will develop, advise on and implement policies relating to effective use of personnel within the company, ensure that the company enjoys the right balance of staff in terms of skills and experience and that training and development opportunities are available to employees to enhance their performance and achieve the company’s business aims.
The ideal candidate must have a degree (Social Sciences) or a Bachelor of Business Administration (Human Resources Management) degree, a post-graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management and at least six (6) years relevant work experience in a busy manufacturing concern.
In addition, the candidate must be business driven, with strong financial acumen a member of a recognized professional body with demonstrated commitment to consistent implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
2. Insurance Officer
Ref: ILO - 1/2012
Reporting to the Legal Manager, the successful candidate will identify and evaluate risks facing the company to organize the provision of appropriate insurance cover or other appropriate action to protect the company’s assets and operations.
He/she will manage recording and processing of all claims made against the company either by third parties or by the company where damage has occurred to any of its insured property or items and assist with continued imbedding of risk management across all company departments.
The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor of Commerce (Insurance) degree and at least 4 years relevant work experience in a busy insurance company or a busy insurance company of a large manufacturing concern.
Possession of an acceptable qualification in insurance such as Associate of the Chartered Institute of Insurance is a must. The candidate must have strong organizing and planning skills, personal work ethic and personal integrity and a certificate of good conduct.
