The Russian Federation Scholarships
For Year 2012 / 2013
The Russian Federation is offering thirty (30) partial scholarships to Kenyans for undergraduate and postgraduate for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Twenty five (25) of the scholarships are for bachelors, specialized degrees and Masters.
Five (5) scholarships are for doctorate /post –doctorate programmes.

The Russian Federation is offering thirty (30) partial scholarships to Kenyans for undergraduate and postgraduate for the 2012/2013 academic year.
Twenty five (25) of the scholarships are for bachelors, specialized degrees and Masters.
Five (5) scholarships are for doctorate /post –doctorate programmes.
Scholarship specifications
- The successful applicants will be required to meet the following expenses;
- Return Air – ticket Nairobi- Moscow.
- Transport from Moscow Airport to place of study ( Approx USD 250) on arrival
- Accommodation ( Approximately USD 16.67 per semester)
- Food (Approx USD 200 per month)
- Medical Insurance ( approx USD 250 per year)
- Publications ( at least 4 articles) (Approx USD1333.33) for PhD students
- The Russian Federation further awards students who demonstrate good academic performance with a stipend of;
- undergraduate - Approx USD 50 per month
- Post graduate - Approx USD 85 per month
Courses
Out of the 30 scholarships, 4 scholarships are specifically for medicine at any level.
For the remaining 25 scholarships, the fields of study are open.

Language
For the candidates who do not speak Russian language, the period of study will include one (1) year of language course
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
A. Undergraduate
Out of the 30 scholarships, 4 scholarships are specifically for medicine at any level.
For the remaining 25 scholarships, the fields of study are open.

Language
For the candidates who do not speak Russian language, the period of study will include one (1) year of language course
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
A. Undergraduate
- Minimum KCSE Mean Grade of B (plain).
- Not more than 23 years of age.
- Strong grades on the major subjects that are key to the specialty preferred
- Completed Secondary Education in the last three (3) years.
- Have an original KCSE certificate
B.
Post Graduate
- Are serving the country in the public sector.
- Completed two (2) years of continuous public service since their last degree studies.
- Graduated with a Bachelor’s degree of at least Upper Second class honors level.
- The masters and PhD scholarships are only suitable for former Russia graduates and those who speak Russian language.
- PhD, applicants must have a relevant Master’s Degree.
- Are below 35 years for Masters and 45 years for PhD

Procedure
Preliminary application forms are obtainable from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology offices at Telposta Towers, 27th floor, Room 2702.
The application forms can also be downloaded from the Ministry’s website: www.scienceandtechnology.go.ke.
Masters and PhD applicants should submit their application forms through their heads of departments.
Completed application forms with attached certified photocopies of ID, academic/professional certificates, transcripts, birth certificate, other testimonials and a proposal (for PhD applicants) in the area of study should be sent to:
