The SME
Business Advisor will be key in the implementation of a new project that seeks
to:
1. Assist
SMEs in the energy sector to develop and grow their businesses, by providing
them with technical, managerial, business and market advisory services.
2. Create
and manage linkages between SMEs in the energy sector and financial service
providers (Banks, Saccos, MFIs).
3. Advise
participating financial service providers in the creation and management of
financing facilities for SMEs in the energy sector, and their customers (end
user finance for the purchase of energy-related goods and installations).
This is a
full time appointment under the Sustainable Energy Markets for Africa (SEMA), a
four year project funded by the European Union and Hivos and implemented by
Triodos Facet (Netherlands) with local partners based in East Africa.
Applicants
must have the following qualifications:
- A degree in banking, economics, business, or an energy-related discipline combined with experience in lending and SME business development.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in facilitating or managing business development.
- Experience in the renewable energy sector will be an advantage.
The
position is based in Nairobi, with substantial fieldwork and frequent travel
upcountry.
