African Portland Cement Company Limited (EAPCC) is a leading cement
manufacturer, situated in Athi-River and pioneered the manufacture of cement in
East Africa in 1933.
The
company has grown over the years and now produces about 1.3 million tons of cement
per annum.
The
cement manufactured by EAPCC is sold under the brand name Blue Triangle and has
been instrumental in the regions social-economic development as virtually all
spheres of development have benefited from the use of Blue Triangle Cement.
We
are seeking to recruit a dynamic, qualified and results oriented professional
of high integrity to fill the following position.
Tax & Treasury Accountant
Ref:
EAPCC/TA/25/MAY/12
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Tax & Treasury Accountant will be responsible for leading the Treasury and Taxation function.
Specific
responsibilities and key result areas will include:-
- Leading
the Tax and Treasury team responsible for all taxation and cash management
roles;
- Ensure
timely preparation and fling all required tax returns;
- Regularly
carry out Tax Risk Assessment across the Company;
- Handling
all compliance reviews and tax planning;
- Conducting
in-house tax training;
- Monitoring
daily cash flows and preparing cash flow forecast;
- Managing
foreign exchange exposure;
- Reconciling
bank accounts, managing relationships with the bankers; Managing
short-term and long-term funds investment;
We
would like to discuss this position with interested applicants who have:-
- Bachelor's
degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or Finance.
- Holder
of professional accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA
- At
least 5 years' experience in a large accounting environment.
- Experience
with Audit firms, Tax departments or Kenya Revenue Authority will be an
added advantage.
- In-depth
knowledge of financial management, credit evaluation techniques, loss
control methods, due diligence processes and taxation law.
- Knowledge
of principles, methods and practices of accounting and
budgeting.
- Strong
leadership, communication and interpersonal and report writing skills.
- Ability
to resolve problems in a timely manner gather and analyze information
skillfully.
- Ability
to deliver EAPCC articulated vision for change, create a sense of urgency
around change and motivate staff to join change efforts.
