Purpose of Job:
To
make a difference in the lives of children, youth and adolescents. The House
parent will be required to create a family oriented environment and to provide
guidance, emotional and physical support to our children.
To
carry out the duties and responsibilities listed below, in respect of Riziki
Children’s Organization, in conjunction with the requirements detailed by the
Project Manager
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Applicants
must be single (Female) at least 28 years of age.
A
post high school education in social work and experience working with children
are preferred.
Must
be able to pass a criminal background check and physical health exams.
The
House Parent must be creative, consistent, patient, compassionate, and serious
about responsibility.
This
is a very difficult live in, full-time position, with one day off a week.
The
position includes salary, housing and food.
Duties
and Responsibilities include:
- Proper stock (food and non food items) management ; producing a house shopping list only once a month
- Proper supervision, utilization and delegation of staff resource make sure all is in order in the house at all times
- Provide spiritual training and teach independent life skills, hygiene, and other skills to the children.
- Develop a holistic functional house timetable(School days and Holidays)
- Prepare the children for school everyday
- Accompany children to church and doctor appointments and maintain proper medical records
- Initiate and encourage games during free time
- Strict implementation of house conduct
- Homework assistance
- Preparing meals and meal menus
- Light housekeeping and minor farm work
- Modeling a Christian life is very important
Resident Teacher
Qualifications:
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preference will be given to those who can teach computer
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily;
- Additional necessary skills include excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines;
- The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and physical health exams.
- Willingness to carry out minor farm work
Teaching
Duties:
- Prepares course objectives and outlines for the Course of Study following curriculum guidelines;
- Checks and assists with homework;
- Organizes the methodology of respective courses to satisfy individual needs and preparation for the following grade level;
- Lectures, demonstrates, and uses audiovisual teaching aids to present subject matter to class;
- Prepares, administers, and corrects tests and records results;
- Assigns lessons, corrects papers;
- Accompanies the children to special events and school functions;
- Supports and participates in the Outdoor Education Program;
- Provides after-school tutoring for children in upper classes;
- Displays student’s work around the school and in publications;
- Communicates with the administration, regarding student progress;
- Leads students by example and otherwise ;
- Maintains a warm and positive environment in the classroom, while establishing and managing classroom rules and regulations.
Resident
Duties:
- On duty for approximately two ( Sundays per month)
- Assist in awakening the children each morning and ensure children are dressed, fed, and ready for school or other activity.
- Gives instructions to children regarding desirable health and personal habits.
- Plans and leads after school recreational activities and participate or instruct students in games.
- Supervise weekend activities and monitor homework.
- Counsels students.
- Assist in supervising children’s housekeeping duties.
- Light Housekeeping and minor farm work
Resident Cook
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent education is preferred. Preference is given to persons with education in quantity cooking.
- Minimum two (2) year food service experience in an institution.
- Have general knowledge of quantity food preparation and portioned serving.
- Verbal and writing abilities necessary to communicate and work effectively with various levels of staff, residents
- Must have the ability to memorize food recipes and experiment with various types of cooking styles.
- Be prepared to provide the required Certificate of Good Conduct and Government Health Certificate
- Willingness to carry out minor farm work
Duties:
- Prepare menus in a regular and varied way and to a high standard and quality
- Serve all meals for the children family and household staff, ensure appropriate portioned servings
- Prepare nutritional snacks for children.
- To ensure that any special dietary meals are prepared.
- Organize and clean kitchen and cooking utensils.
- Plan menus according to children’s needs and diet restrictions.
- Plan and prepare food for special functions
- Bake breads and pastries.
- Ensure that resources utilized in the kitchen are not wasted and ingredients are used in an effective manner.
- Create and maintain cooking and cleaning regimes (daily, weekly, periodically etc) for all areas of the kitchen in line with the Company’s quality philosophy
- Light housekeeping and minor farm work
