WWF
is one of the world’s largest conservation organizations working together with
its partners to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to
build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature.
WWF
is working in several countries in the Eastern & Southern Africa Region;
these are Kenya, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
WWF Eastern & Southern Africa Program Office (WWF-ESARPO) is piloting a “Communication Pod Project” that will convey the conservation issues in the region.

We
are therefore seeking an experienced and talented professional to manage all
materials and content generated by this project.
The
communications officer will ensure ongoing delivery of this content to the
wider WWF network.
They
will also ensure that the project’s output increases visibility of WWF-ESARPO
on conservation issues in places that are key for WWF conservation priorities
in support of the conservation strategy.
The
communications officer will act as the WWF-ESARPO main point of contact for the
Project team.
The
candidate should possess a university degree in Communications, Public
Relations, Media Relations or other related fields; an ability to think
creatively and identify and capitalize on ad-hoc communications
opportunities.
They
should have an understanding and or knowledge of conservation issues,
international development and the NGO sector.

The position will report to the Director Communications & Branding and will work closely with an International Pods Communication team currently based in the UK.
The
position will be based in Nairobi with travel within the Eastern & Southern
Africa Region.
