Air Uganda is owned by the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED) and has been in operation since November 2007
 

Air Uganda is also part of Celestair Group, with sister airlines in West Africa, Air Burkina, Air Mali, Air Cote d’Ivoire and works in strategic partnership with Meridianafly and Air Italy in Europe. 

Air Uganda is based in Entebbe with the primary purpose of providing a more effective and affordable Ugandan link to the rest of the East African region.
 

Role
 

Air Uganda is seeking a new CEO who will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable development and operation of the airline.
 

Profile
 

The CEO must have solid airline industry experience, within a competitive environment and a well-established industry network and reputation. 

The ideal candidate will have excellent, all-round, general management experience within a commercial environment and a demonstrated ability to keep airline costs to an absolute minimum.
 

The successful candidate will be a charismatic, hands-on leader who is an excellent communicator and able to motivate and lead a large and diverse group of employees.

As well as demonstrated business building skills you will bring creativity and innovation to the role with the ability to conceive and develop new concepts and approaches.

The preferred candidates will have an undergraduate degree in business or economics and ideally, an M.B.A. together with international experience and demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultural boundaries.
 

The position is based at Air Uganda’s corporate headquarters in Kampala, Uganda with international travel as necessary.
