CSR and Environment Officer
Mandate
Implement and manage the company’s environmental management plan (EMP)
Facilitate environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and similar
Manage and develop upon the existing corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme reporting to the London-based Head of Community Affairs in London
Meet regularly with key stakeholders (including key community members, local authorities) under the direction of the company’s Development Director

weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on progress
Position Description
Reporting to the Head of Community Affairs in London and the Development Director on site, the CSR Officer will be responsible for actioning all aspects of the company’s CSR activities.

This
will include environmental impact management, community engagement, liaising
with local authorities, and implementing sustainable community development
projects.
This
is a site-based role and the candidate will work on a rotation.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications and Experience
- Fluency
in Luo language is essential
- A
bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences
- Registered
with NEMA as an Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Audit
Expert
- A
good understanding of the Environmental Management and Co-ordination Act
1999
- Experience
conducting EIA's and Audits
- Experience
working with local communities for community development
- A
good understanding of NEMA EIA/ EA processes and procedures
- 1-3
years experience in a similar role
- An
understanding of the exploration and mining industry would be a bonus
- Understanding
of, or willingness to learn, Kenyan policies and procedures relating to
exploration and mining licencing
