MSI is looking for a
Citizen Participation Advisor for an upcoming United States Agency for
International Development (USAID) funded devolution program focused on
the new county level of government in Kenya.

This full-time, multi-year position will be based in Nairobi, Kenya with required in-country travel to target locations.
The selected Citizen
Participation Advisor will report to the Chief of Party and be
responsible for supervising the delivery of technical assistance and
training in citizen participation to community members in the newly
created county level governments.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with start-up and initial work planning;
- Supervise and assist with technical implementation as capable;
- Build capacity of project staff to more efficiently carry out their work;
- Develop appropriate training materials as needed
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role, on donor-funded activities in Kenya is desired. USAID experience is a plus;
- Knowledge of Kenyan citizen participation practices in one or more of the following areas: citizen participation in local government; community engagement; participatory planning; social auditing;
- Proven ability to manage a diverse staff in multiple locations and foster teamwork;
- Advanced degree in international development, public administration, economics, political science or another relevant field preferred;
- Ability to travel within Kenya;
- Must be fluent in English.
