Position Title: Head of ICT
 
Job Purpose:
 
To provide leadership in the development, implementation and management of information communication and technology (ICT) strategies and to manage the delivery and support of effective and efficient technology services to enhance business performance. 

It also entails the overall management of technology related delivery channels for efficient customer service, data integrity and operational efficiency in line with the company’s strategic goals. 

This position will report to the Director Business Operations.
 

Principal Accountabilities
  • Review ICT strategy in line with HF goals and market trends by recommending adoption of relevant technologies.
  • To provide support to the core business operations.
  • Manage the ongoing and new relationships and suppliers of services to ensure continuity and quality delivery.
  • Manage data center operations and ensure that different business requirements are met within set time lines.
  • Define, plan and implement the company’s ICT security standards, procedures and architecture while fostering integrity and confidentiality.
  • Develop and monitor ICT budget in line with business needs
  • Facilitate and participate in ICT related projects for optimal system utilization and achievement of desired user requirements.
  • Oversee in-house and vendor support to ensure optimization of all software, system hardware and ICT infrastructure in use.
  • Review and monitor compliance to enterprise system risk and security to minimize exposure to internal and external threats.
  • Formulate and implement ICT policies and procedures in the bank for effective and controlled running of all systems.
  • Ensure systems integrity and security is maintained in meeting agreed service levels and within the enterprise policy framework.
  • Manage the compliance requirements for the regulatory and standards bodies on ICT related matters.
  • Regular monitoring and evaluation of compliance and awareness of existing policies.
  • Lead and develop staff while enhancing individual performance and productivity so as to meet departmental and organization ICT targets.
Expected Minimum Qualification
Education:
  • BSc – Computer Science &/or Software engineering
  • Relevant Professional ICT certifications
  • Business Administration and Banking (Added Advantage)
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in an ICT environment, with sound exposure to database and network administration, 3 of which should be at a management level.
Technical and General Competencies:
 
Technical competencies:
  • Wide knowledge and appreciation of a cross section of systems technologies and their integrations – databases, Microsoft technologies, Oracle technologies, Unix, San technologies.
  • Good knowledge of all banking operations, processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrate good networking skills
  • Good understanding of telecommunication technology and related infrastructure.
  • Project Management skills
