MSH seeks to recruit a highly motivated and result oriented individual to join a dynamic team in its USAID funded FANIKISHA Project that focuses on strengthening the technical and institutional capacity of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in Kenya to enable them to be responsive to the community health response for the health and well-being of Kenyans.
 
Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor
 
(M & E ADVISOR)

The M&E Advisor will be responsible for providing technical assistance in Monitoring and Evaluation, Reporting and Learning (MERL) to 10 national level CSOs and their affiliates. 

S/he will work closely with the CSOs to strengthen their M&E systems with a focus to using the information for: decision making, improving the performance of health services, improving the management of health resources, policy and advocacy. 

The M&E Advisor will lead and oversee training, coaching and mentoring activities, develop tools and approaches. 

S/he will strengthen data collection, analysis, dissemination and use within the project and participating CSOs.

Qualification and Experience
 
The ideal candidate should have a master’s degree in public health, demography, health systems research, or the equivalent with at least five years’ experience in M&E, data analysis (both qualitative and quantitative).
 
S/he should have deep understanding of the challenges CSO face in the M&E, reporting and learning. 

The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability to transfer monitoring and evaluation skills to colleagues, partners and local organizations through training, mentoring and coaching. 

S/he should also demonstrate competences in documentation and dissemination of best practices, designing and implementing survey protocols and demonstrate the link between M&E and project management. 

Experience in working on capacity development in leadership and management programs, and managing and executing M&E activities for USAID funded programs is highly desirable.
 
In addition, s/he should be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal, facilitation, relationship-building, negotiating and influencing skills. 

S/he should be able to work with minimal supervision under tight timelines and be able to support cross technical teams. 

Computer proficiency in word processing, databases, spreadsheets and presentation programs (Microsoft applications preferred); and also data analysis programs (SPSS, Stata, MS Access and EpiInfo) is required
